Earth Hour 2009

28th March from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm

People, businesses and iconic buildings all around the world will switch off their lights for an hour as part of the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour Campaign.  Landmarks will be plunged into darkness, including the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the Forth Bridge, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Table Mountain in Cape Town and Sydney Opera House. The event is designed to show global support for action on climate change.

The Swansea Environmental Forum would like to encourage as many people, businesses and other organisations in Swansea to get involved. Swansea Council has already signed up and will be joining in by switching off the lights at civic buildings for an hour. The lights will go out for an hour at the Civic Centre, the Guildhall and the Council's offices in Penllergaer.

Let’s see if we can get even more individuals and organisations involved in this exciting campaign!
